Rocky Mountain Region Awards

This recognition program consists of three parts observed at the club, region
and federation levels. This award acknowledges women who are working to
improve the lives of women and girls through their personal or professional
activities. Their efforts help to promote the issues that are important to
the Soroptimist organization. Honorees are women who have worked in
extraordinary ways to benefit women and girls. The Region submits
a winner from the submissions by sent in by the clubs to Soroptimist
International of the Americas Federation.

The Women's Opportunity Awards program
(formerly the Training Awards Program) was established in 1972 with funding from Soroptimist
International of the Americas, to assist women heads of household to obtain the
skills training and education necessary to improve their employment status and
standards of living for themselves and their family. The Women's
Opportunity Awards is Soroptimist International of the Americas' signature project.

The Rocky Mountain Region also awards special place winners with
a check and certificate. These winners are selected from submissions from
clubs in the Region. The funds and certificates for Region first,
second and third place winners are supplied by Soroptimist International of the
Americas. The first place Region award winner's name is sent on
to compete for the Soroptimist International of the Americas Federation award.

The Violet Richardson Award
honors girls who are making a difference through volunteer service.

The Rocky Mountain Region awards recognition to a
Violet Richardson Award winner from one of the clubs in the Region.
This winner is selected from submissions from clubs in the Region. The
Region winner's name is sent on to compete for the Soroptimist International of
the Americas Federation award.
